Yesterday was another big day for me. So many new and different experiences. But then, most things seem to be new these days. I hope that I’ll get a paw up on everything soon!!
Yesterday I slept (mostly) through the night until 6am! And, I am pleased to announce, I didn’t make a mess in my kennel. Mom took me outside to get busy before breakfast and I made it all the way outside …. it was hard for my little bladder but I did it! Breakfast was yummy — i really like the food they serve here! Then mom sat down on the floor and I curled up on her lap for a little after breakfast snooze. A little while later I saw dad carrying my kennel out the door. This was cause for concern, because I really like it here and didn’t want move again!! Sure enough, not long later I was lifted up into the back of the white car and I got into the kennel and dad and I went for a drive. (I’m not sure why mom didn’t come with me, and I’m not sure I’m happy with her for not doing so!)
This drive was short. We went to a very new smelling house to meet a man who smells a bit like dad — but like an old dad. My dad called this human dad, so maybe this is my granddad? He was friendly and would stroke my back when I could get close enough to him (dad was keeping me on a pretty short leash to make sure I didn’t have an accident on the white carpets!). But even more interesting was the thing called “Isaac.”
Isaac is about my size, but sleeker. And he’s covered in black fur. But his fur is different than mine. He’s got a long tail and these little ears that stick straight up. I know he’s not a dog, but I’m not quite sure what he is. I thought maybe he would be a good playmate, so I tried to go over and introduce myself so the fun could begin. No such luck. The Isaac’s smell is all over the house, so I’m thinking that this is probably his house and that the human is his pet. No matter how I tried, the Isaac wouldn’t let me get close to him to play
But he also never left the room where I was in, unless he needed to get busy (and why is he allowed to do so inside but I’m not….. it’s cold out there?!). He always watched me from his perch on the TV or on the couch or where ever he happened to find a cozy place to curl up! Another complaint: mom and dad don’t let me on their couch or bed, so why can Isaac?
Over all it was a good day. I didn’t mess at all at Isaac’s house. But when Dad took me to a new place to visit mom for a little bit, I was so excited I couldn’t help myself. Then after a short visit dad took me home and I’m sad to say I had a few more problems there too. I really don’t have a good hang of this yet. But by the end of the evening I would run into the place where I get my food and get busy there — at least with it being a hard surface and not the soft ground in the house it was easier for mom and dad to clean up.
In the evening mom and dad were at a meeting at the church so I was in my kennel and when I got out I was HYPER!! I found my favourite blue star and was running with it everywhere in the house. That is, running with it, when I wasn’t attacking it to get the squeeker out. Mom tried to settle me down with some massage, but after been cooped up for the evening I didn’t really want any of that. But finally, I was a tired puppy and when mom sat down on the ground, I curled up on her lap and fell asleep.
This morning I’m pleased to report I slept until almost 7am. But I just saw dad walk out of the house with my kennel so I better get going, i think I’m going on another car ride.
